Marcella Lussi is not limited to painting on silk: she reinvest and transforms it into a visual story where every shade of color seems to be born from an emotion. Milanese by birth, but from Palermo at heart, she has dedicated over twenty years to experimenting with a technique that fuses art, fashion and design, overturning the traditional Serti technique, to give life to a personal language.
Every creation of Marcella Lussi is a unique, unrepeatable piece, in which the silk becomes a living surface, capable of capturing light and movement. The secret lies in an intense steam fixing process, which makes the colours bright and indelible, visible on both sides of the fabric. Nothing is reproducible, each work is an unrepeatable snapshot of inspiration and mastery.
Making her work even more precious is the collaboration with Paty, a talented seamstress originally from Sri Lanka who lives in Palermo. Her expert hands finish each piece with perfection, transforming the painted fabric into objects that combine art and craftsmanship.
The works of Marcella Lussi have found a home in boutiques, galleries and museums, between Pantelleria, Paris, Palermo, Trapani, Vernazza, Rome and London. For over a decade, from 2005 to 2017, her atelier in the heart of the historic center of Palermo has been a meeting point between creativity and experimentation, a laboratory of ideas in continuous evolution.
Today Marcella Lussi lives between the sea of Trapani and a small village in Molise, immersed in nature and in her inexhaustible artistic research. Every brush stroke on silk is for her a silent dialogue with color, a gesture that transforms the fabric into poetry.
